Dubai, August 17, 2025 – Dubai International Airport (DXB) has taken a historic step in airport innovation by unveiling the world’s first passenger corridor powered by artificial intelligence (AI), designed to allow travelers to pass through immigration without showing a passport, boarding pass, or any physical documents.
With this new technology, passengers only need to walk through the smart corridor while facial recognition cameras and biometric sensors verify their identity within seconds. The system automatically cross-checks the data with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) database, ensuring maximum security and speed.
According to the authorities, this corridor can process up to 10 travelers simultaneously, multiplying efficiency compared to traditional methods. This makes the airport experience smoother, safer, and virtually wait-free.
This project is part of the “Travel Without Borders” initiative, which aims to eliminate physical controls and smart gates in favor of a 100% biometric and frictionless experience. The initial rollout began in Terminal 3 for First and Business Class areas and is now expanding to a larger number of passengers, setting a global precedent.
Global Innovation Impact
The AI corridor strengthens Dubai’s position as a world leader in digital transformation and airport technology and is expected to inspire other airports to adopt the same model in the coming years.
With this launch, DXB not only enhances the comfort of millions of travelers but also redefines the very concept of borders in international airports.
